Volunteers vital ingredient of Breakfast Clubs

Volunteering at a School Breakfast Club is a rewarding way to play an active role in supporting your community.

School Breakfast Club Helpers ensure students can start their day with a healthy breakfast, which supports concentration and learning in the classroom.

Schools are responsible for recruiting, training and managing their volunteers, with School Breakfast Club Helpers usually assisting with tasks such as setting up the breakfast area, preparing and serving breakfasts, and cleaning up and washing dishes. Social interaction with the students is an important part too, and supports informal learning of social and life skills.

School Breakfast Clubs generally run between 8am and 9am, but the days and times vary depending on each school.

If you are interested in volunteering at your local School Breakfast Club, please view the map below for schools that currently require additional help. You can contact the school directly. Note, all schools require volunteers to have a Working With Children Check. They will provide further details about their volunteer recruitment process.

The School Breakfast Clubs program is supported by the Victorian Government Department of Education and Training.
