We’re teaming up with The Sun Theatre in Yarraville to bring you a film festival with heart!
The inaugural festival will feature documentaries and film about life, waste, the future of food and human compassion. Festival-goers are asked to bring a can of food as part of their payment for the film and all proceeds will be donated to Foodbank Victoria.
26 October, 7pm – Festival Opening Night Fundraiser ‘The Gateway Bug’
A documentary about feeding humanity in an uncertain age. Currently, over 2 billion people on Earth rely on eating insects for protein; daily habits that can help fix a food system that has been damaged by climate change. Ticket includes drink on arrival, snack and Q&A with the filmmakers. Tickets via link below.
27 October, 7pm – ‘Theater of Life’
A documentary about the Refettorio Ambrosiano, an extraordinary soup kitchen conceived by renowned chef Massimo Bottura during the Milan 2015 World’s Fair. Massimo invited 60 of the world’s best chefs to join him to cook for refugees and the homeless of Milan. All meals were made from the waste food of Expo. Tickets via link below.
28 October, 7pm – ‘Hector’
A film about a wandering homeless man named Hector who heads south to London for his annual pilgrimage to a Christmas shelter. Along the way, the story of how his comfortable life vanished emerges. Tickets via link below.
