How We Help

Home / About Us / How We Help
In 2014-15 we led the way in food rescue across the state, helping to feed over 100,000 Victorians each month, distributing over 17 million meals during the year. We get more food to more people than any other Victorian agency of our kind.

We are dedicated to working as effectively as we can to maximise our resources: for every $1 donated to Foodbank Victoria, we are able to distribute $8 worth of food. This is only possible through the generous donations through national and local food and grocery suppliers, markets, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.

With the help of our dedicated army of volunteers, we sort and repack donated products, rapidly redistributing it through our community network of 451 welfare agencies such as The Salvation Army, Anglicare and Uniting Care. We also service Regional Food Hubs and smaller organisations like local community centres and volunteer-run church groups across Victoria.

Together we put nearly 50,000 meals on Victorian tables every day.
